Music for a Silent House // In Video

Now here’s something I haven’t done in a while.. though these, I really cannot help but share. As Miley Cyrus continues to talk about wanting to bring back the power of music videos, others have their work speaking for themselves – and not in value of shock factor. Rather, I think, in value of artistic creation. These two videos are so completely different, but utterly capturing nonetheless. In ‘St Clarity’ by The Paper Kites, your outlook on the world is questioned. It’s simple, and it’s in your hands. No matter who you are or where you are, it’s about whether you let yourself stop to be wowed, and to fascinate in the wonders that can often be so close to home. The Paper Kites are a band that portray simplicity in all that they do. And it’s no less effective than the complication that is introduced in Rihanna’s ‘What Now’. The best part is you feel the frustration, and you relate to that need to scream. Directors Darren Craig, Jonathan Craven and Jeff Nicholas work vulnerability, the power of dark moments and the mind when it’s racing, to create an incredible compilation of images. Now Miley Cyrus isn’t the only one who ought to pay attention.
What do you think about the videos?!
